10. Substance Use & Recovery Expectations
Kura Solution maintains a recovery-oriented environment. Residents must remain free from alcohol and illicit drugs, submit to random drug and alcohol testing, and participate in recovery activities.
Relapse response — relapse is evaluated individually and may result in: increased support services, clinical reassessment, increased testing, referral to treatment, temporary restrictions, or administrative discharge. Drug trafficking, distribution, or providing substances to others may result in immediate discharge.
11. Medication Management
Residents may take prescribed medications and must disclose all prescribed medications, use them only as prescribed, provide prescription verification when requested, and secure medications appropriately. Medication diversion is strictly prohibited.
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT): Kura Solution supports evidence-based recovery practices, including MAT. Residents participating in MAT must comply with treatment recommendations and medication monitoring procedures.
12. Smoking / Vaping Policy
Smoking and vaping are permitted only in designated outdoor areas. No smoking or vaping indoors (rooms, bathrooms, common areas). All waste must be disposed of properly in designated receptacles; littering cigarette butts or vape waste is prohibited. Violations may result in written warning, loss of privileges, disciplinary action, or program discharge.
13. Employment, Education & Productive Activity
Residents are expected to pursue productive activities, such as employment, education, vocational training, volunteer service, or job search activities. Individual goals are incorporated into each resident's recovery plan.
14. Case Management & Recovery Support
Each resident works with a Case Manager to develop an Individualized Recovery Plan. Services may include housing support, employment assistance, healthcare coordination, mental health referrals, legal support, and benefits assistance. Peer Recovery Coaches may provide mentoring, encouragement, and accountability.
15. Chores & House Responsibilities
Residents are expected to maintain a clean and healthy living environment: completing assigned chores, cleaning personal living areas, participating in house cleaning activities, and maintaining acceptable hygiene standards. Failure to complete responsibilities may result in corrective action.
16. Personal Property & Room Assignments
Residents are responsible for safeguarding personal belongings. Kura Solution is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged property.
Room assignments are determined by management. Residents may not change rooms without approval, move furniture without authorization, or allow unauthorized individuals to occupy assigned spaces.
Abandoned property left after discharge may be disposed of after thirty (30) days unless arrangements have been approved.
Room checks & facility access: Kura Solution conducts regular monthly room checks to ensure cleanliness and safety, confirm compliance with program rules, and identify maintenance or health concerns. Management may enter rooms for scheduled inspections, wellness checks, or emergency and safety concerns. Participation in room checks is a condition of residency.
17. Safety & Emergency Procedures
Call 911 immediately for medical or mental health emergencies, fire, or threats to life or safety. Staff must be notified immediately after emergency services are contacted.
Overdose response: call 911, administer naloxone if available, notify staff, and remain with the individual until emergency personnel arrive.
Fire safety: residents shall not tamper with smoke detectors, use candles or open flames, or block exits. Follow posted evacuation procedures and evacuate immediately if necessary.
18. Weapons, Violence & Harassment
Weapons — including firearms, ammunition, explosives, and dangerous weapons — are prohibited on all Kura Solution property. Violence, threats, intimidation, bullying, harassment, and sexual misconduct are prohibited. Violations may result in immediate discharge.
19. Confidentiality & Privacy
Kura Solution protects resident information in accordance with applicable laws, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 when applicable. Information may only be released with written authorization, when legally required, or during emergencies as permitted by law. Residents are expected to respect the privacy of others.

- Unresolved issues may be escalated to management.
- Final response provided within ten business days.
Appeals: residents may appeal disciplinary actions or discharge decisions within five business days. Retaliation is prohibited.
21. Discharge & Transition Planning
Planned discharge may occur upon completion of goals, stable housing placement, or program completion. Administrative discharge may occur for serious rule violations, violence or threats, drug trafficking, continued noncompliance, or safety concerns.
Transition planning: whenever possible, staff assist residents with housing referrals, employment planning, recovery resources, healthcare connections, and community support services.
22. Electronic Devices & Internet Use
Personal electronic device use is permitted as part of daily living; all use must support a safe, respectful, and recovery-focused environment. Device use is a privilege and may be restricted if necessary. Residents may not use devices for illegal activity; harassment, threats, or intimidation; recording or photographing residents or staff without consent; posting or displaying explicit content in shared areas; or any disruptive or unsafe behavior.
23. Handbook Revisions
Kura Solution reserves the right to revise policies and procedures as necessary. Residents will be notified of significant changes and provided access to updated handbook versions.
